OUR ROOTS
Great Hope Preschool (GHP) is developmentally appropriate in its approach to early childhood care and education. The first location opened in October 2014 in Wesley Chapel, Florida. In the winter of 2018 our Lake Magdalene location in Tampa opened. In the summer of 2020 GHP assumed the operations of the childcare center, previously TodayCare Children's Center, located on PHSC's West Campus at 10230 Ridge Road in New Port Richey. Our program provides each child with the opportunity to attach firmly to a warm, responsive, appropriate, and consistent adult during the early years of your child’s life. We believe that children learn best by active exploration of their learning environment through play. Play is the foundation for academic learning and discoveries. According to Jean Piaget’s theory, learning is established through play and exposure to a variety of experiences. We believe that a home away from home should provide a warm, positive, understanding, safe, secure, and loving, place for a child to play and learn. Children are individuals with unique and special needs. Reach out to learn more, and enroll with us today!

Infants is currently offered at the Lake Magdalene and PHCC locations.

Toddlers - Ages One Year to Two Years
At this age, your child is learning at a rapid rate. Each activity is purposeful and intentionally planned based on the teachers’ observations of each child and your child’s needs as well as their interests.

Community Partners
Community involvement and engagement produces long-term benefits. It gives children a sense of belonging and is crucial to the building of their identity. Children are gifted the opportunity to learn, grow, and achieve greatness through their community.

Parent Involvement

Consciuos Discipline and Our School Family
Inspired by a healthy family model, the School Family creates a positive school climate that is integral to academic and life success. Learn to transform school culture and create inclusive, compassionate and bully-free learning environments where every student is embraced and encouraged. GHP is working to become a Conscious discipline model school and family.

Conscious Discipline is an evidence-based, trauma-informed approach. It is recognized by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration’s (SAMHSA’s) National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP), and received high ratings in 8 of 10 categories in a Harvard analysis of the nation’s top 25 social-emotional learning programs. The Harvard study’s authors say, “Conscious Discipline provides an array of behavior management strategies and classroom structures that teachers can use to turn everyday situations into learning opportunities.”
Conscious Discipline encompasses these four components, which are scientifically and practically designed for success:

Field Trips
Communities are rich learning laboratories. Field trips make it possible for children to see the connections between what is happening at school and in the ‘real-world’. Field trips and hands on learning make concepts more memorable.

Healthy Homemade Meals

Environmental Education
By providing both unstructured and structured experiences in nature from an early age, children build an understanding of the natural world that allows them to engage in increasingly complex investigation and knowledge building over time.
